Free Workshop at the Heritage Glass Museum

No experience necessary and all equipment and supplies will be provided!

The second in our Glass Pen Workshop series, this 2-hour workshop focuses on using glass pens as coloring instruments. We shall be using a variety of colored inks to produce mandala patterns. There will be a variety of mandala blanks to color and an assortment of paper to transfer the designs onto if desired. This is a fun, relaxed workshop with friends, and please know that all supplies will be provided at no cost.

Try a fun and easy project using glass pens. We shall be decorating blank cards and gift tags for that personal touch. Glass pens have been used for hundreds of years. They look complicated but are easy to use. Although you shall be using modern glass pens, you will be able to see a lovely selection of vintage and antique glass pens on display in the museum. Everything is supplied for the workshop, so just bring yourself and have some fun!

Have you ever wanted to try a calligraphy-decorated letter but don’t quite know where to start? This workshop is for you! Using glass pens to trace and decorate a capital letter is an easy and fun way to begin your journey with decorated letters.

The star of this workshop is the glass pen, a versatile and easy-to-use writing instrument whose roots date back to the 17th century. We will be using brand-new pens which were designed to replicate the construction of early glass pens.

Participants will go home with their decorated letter, a glass pen of their choice, and a small bottle of ink. Join us for this enjoyable exploration of historical techniques and methods with a modern twist!
